Agility and FORT Robotics sign safety agreement for Digit 5
The memorandum of understanding widens a supplier relationship into joint work on an offboard safety link between the humanoid and factory systems.

Agility Robotics says it has signed a memorandum of understanding with FORT Robotics to work together on safety for Digit 5. FORT already supplies technology for earlier Digit versions; the company says the new agreement adds joint hardware development, solutions engineering, regulatory compliance and deployment support.
The release names two elements: a pendant sled, a holder for Digit's tablet that adds an emergency stop and enabling-device functions, and an off-robot interface that Agility and FORT developed jointly to extend Agility's cooperative-safety approach beyond the robot. Agility says Digit 5's predecessors have logged more than 65,000 hours of operation, at customer sites including Schaeffler, GXO and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada.
The release does not announce a certification or a delivery date.
