Agility Robotics has chosen Nyobolt, a battery company based in Cambridge, UK, to supply a fast-recharge battery system for its Digit 5 humanoid, according to a joint release dated 15 October.

The companies say the pack gives 90 minutes of runtime and recharges in nine minutes, a 10:1 run-to-charge ratio against 2:1 for Digit 4. Agility says this would let Digit 5 do more than 20 hours of productive work in a 24-hour day.

Early access to Digit 5 with the new battery is expected in the first half of 2027, with wider availability over the following six to nine months, the release says. “For our customers, Digit’s uptime is the business case,” said Daniel Diez, Agility’s chief business officer. Agility expects its merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI, which would list it on Nasdaq, to close in the fourth quarter.
